In this role, you will be responsible for the orientation and training of new hires as well as ongoing technical training for our composite techs. You will assist with developing new training and refining our existing courses on our digital platform. You will also work closely with our manufacturing team to make sure changes in SOP are passed on to our composite teams. This position may require occasional travel to our headquarters in Costa Mesa or other facilities around the country. This will require composite layup, bonding and assembly experience as well as excellent communication skills. If you are someone who excels at communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership then this role is for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver recurring training sessions on critical operational areas, including Quality Management Systems (QMS), Business Process Standards (BPS), Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, and Safety protocols.

  • Provide effective On-the-Job Training (OJT) and mentorship to newly promoted technicians, facilitating their transition and skill enhancement.

  • Prepare and develop controlled samples and practical testing materials for hands-on training (e.g., carbon angle layups for tapes, carbon for bond preparation, filler application, adhesive mixing, double cupping techniques) to ensure practical skill validation.

  • Design and develop engaging training videos, and regularly review existing video content to ensure alignment with current specifications, procedures, and best practices.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records and documentation in a timely manner, ensuring compliance and traceability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a technician in a relevant manufacturing or production environment.

  • Proven ability to effectively demonstrate technical procedures and communicate complex information clearly in both one-on-one and group training settings.

  • Comfortable and proficient in public speaking, capable of delivering engaging presentations to large groups.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly and concisely with peers, management, and all levels of the organization.

  • A strong work ethic and the ability to contribute to production tasks or shop duties during periods between formal training sessions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a training, mentoring, or lead technician role.

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or training software.

  • Certifications related to Quality Management (e.g., QMS principles), Safety (e.g., OSHA), or specific manufacturing processes.
