Position Title:
Director, Talent Management-HR Talent Development & Learning-Mount Sinai Health System-Hybrid-Full Time-Days
Position Summary:
The Director, Talent Management, provides strategic leadership for Mount Sinai Health System's enterprise performance management program and the development of related talent management practices. The Director establishes program direction, governance, standards, and the long-term roadmap for goal setting, performance reviews, continuous feedback, talent discussions, and development planning.
Working closely with Human Resources, Digital and Technology Partners, operational leaders, and other enterprise stakeholders, the Director ensures that performance and talent practices are practical, consistent, equitable, and aligned with organizational priorities. The Director oversees leader enablement, communications, change management, program evaluation, and the team responsible for implementing and continuously improving these practices.
The Director partners with the leaders and functions accountable for succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, employee relations, HR technology, and workforce analytics to strengthen connections across the broader talent ecosystem without assuming ownership of those portfolios.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred in Organizational Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
Experience Requirements:
Eight or more years of progressive experience in performance management, talent management, organizational development, human resources, or a closely related discipline, including experience leading enterprise performance management or comparable large-scale talent programs. Prior people leadership and experience working in a complex, matrixed organization are required. Healthcare experience is preferred.

Compensation Statement:
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $140,000.00 - $230,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Establishes and advances the strategy, governance, standards, and multiyear roadmap for enterprise performance management and related talent management practices.

Leads the design and continuous evolution of performance management practices, including goal setting, performance reviews, calibration, continuous feedback, talent discussions, and development planning.

Translates organizational priorities and leadership expectations into practical performance and talent management approaches that can be implemented consistently across a large and complex health system.

Provides strategic direction and oversight for annual performance management cycles, leader enablement, communications, change management, and program implementation.

Chairs or supports appropriate governance and decision-making forums, clarifying roles, decision rights, standards, escalation paths, and accountability for program success.
-
Advises HR and operational leaders on performance and talent management strategy, program design, adoption, and effectiveness, while referring individual employee relations matters to the appropriate HR function.

Builds alignment among HR partners, DTP, People Analytics, Talent Development and Learning, operational leaders, and other stakeholders whose work affects or is affected by performance and talent practices.

Partners with succession planning, leadership development, employee experience, and other talent functions to create appropriate connections while respecting established ownership and accountability.

Defines program outcomes and measures of success and partners with HRIS and People Analytics to establish data, reporting, dashboard, and evaluation requirements.

Uses program data, stakeholder feedback, workforce insights, and external practices to identify risks, recommend priorities, and guide program improvements.

Oversees relevant vendor relationships, budgets, resources, and technology requirements in partnership with procurement, finance, DTP, HRIS, and other accountable functions.

Leads, develops, and evaluates the talent management team, ensuring clear priorities, strong execution, effective collaboration, and continuous capability development.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises the talent management team and may oversee vendors, consultants, and cross-functional project teams
