Full job description

Become a part of our caring community

The Senior Informaticist serves as a strategic analytics partner supporting CenterWell Traditional Pharmacy. You will work with business leaders and partners to translate complex or ambiguous challenges into questions, investigate the drivers of our performance, and develop relevant recommendations.

As the analytics environment increasingly incorporates AI-assisted capabilities such as Databricks Genie One, success in this role is less dependent on advanced programming expertise and increasingly dependent on business acumen, analytical curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to critically evaluate analytical results. The Senior Informaticist will use governed data and AI-assisted analytical tools to investigate business performance, identify potential drivers of headwinds and tailwinds, test hypotheses, and help business partners understand not only what is occurring, but why it is occurring and what actions may improve outcomes.

You combine healthcare and pharmacy knowledge with strong analytical thinking, business partnership, and is comfortable working with payer, prescription claims, membership, operational, marketing, and financial information.

Job Description:

The Senior Informaticist serves as a strategic problem solver who partners across business, operations, technology, and analytics teams to address complex and often ambiguous challenges. You will identify opportunities, framing problems, evaluating alternatives, and delivering grounded recommendations that guide measurable outcomes. Success requires the ability to create clarity in uncertain situations, balance competing priorities, and develop practical solutions when perfect information is not available.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead complex, projects with accountability for outcomes, from problem identification through recommendation, implementation, and measurement of results.

  • Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches and applicable recommendations.

  • Synthesize information from multiple data sources, partners, and operational processes to identify causes and solution opportunities.

  • Communicate complex findings, assumptions, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

  • Develop analytical frameworks, business cases, and decision-support tools that promote informed and transparent decision-making.

  • Influence business strategy and operational priorities through evidence-based insights and thoughtful evaluation of alternatives.

  • Take ownership of projects, independently determining goals, approaches, stakeholder engagement plans, and deliverables.

  • Improve performance by identifying opportunities, challenging assumptions, and driving sustainable solutions.

We are looking for exceptional critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to connect data, business context, and stakeholder needs to provide practical solutions with meaningful organizational and financial impact. You are comfortable operating in environments where the problem is not fully defined, the data is imperfect, and there is no established playbook for success.

Use your skills to make an impact

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience solving complex business problems through analytics, operations, strategy, consulting, informatics, engineering, or related disciplines.

  • Define problems, establish analytical approaches, and create solutions where no established process or framework existed.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize information across diverse and incomplete data sources.

  • Experience making recommendations in situations where data, stakeholder priorities, or business conditions are imperfect or uncertain.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting complex findings to senior leaders.

  • Proven ability to influence decisions through logical reasoning, evidence, and structured problem-solving.

  • Experience translating business objectives into measurable analytical approaches and actionable outcomes.

  • Track record of using data and analytical reasoning to influence decisions and drive action, rather than simply producing analyses or reports.

  • Experience working with healthcare, pharmacy, Medicare, Medicaid, CMS, claims, or population health data.

  • Experience utilizing SQL, Python, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative, analytical, business, or technical field, or equivalent demonstrated experience solving complex business problems.

  • Experience in consulting, strategy, operations research, informatics, product analytics, process improvement, engineering, or related disciplines.

  • Demonstrated success solving novel business challenges in highly regulated or complex industries.
