Full job description

About the Company Valerie Health is the AI front office for independent provider groups. We are reimagining how independent practices operate by using AI to modernize patient/provider communication, enhance care, and drive industry-changing operational efficiencies. Why join us now?

  • Team: We are led by Pete Shalek (2x health tech exits, including a $600M acquisition by Optum) and Nitin Joshi (scaled Uber Eats + Health, Stripe Connect, and Bridge–acquired by Stripe for $1.1B). Beyond our founders, our team brings DNA from category leaders (Uber, Stripe, Meta), high-growth unicorns, and top consulting firms.

  • Trajectory: We partner with leading independent provider groups across the U.S., automating hundreds of thousands of tasks each month. Scaling at 7x year-over-year with 300% NRR as customers consistently expand usage.

  • Funding: We have raised $39m from world-class investors including Redpoint Ventures, General Catalyst, Primary Ventures, and BoxGroup.

About the role Agent Operations is core to how Valerie turns AI agents into real outcomes for healthcare practices. You’ll own customer workflows end-to-end, from figuring out what to build to launching agents and improving their performance in production. Your work will directly shape how quickly we grow, how much work we automate, and how reliably we deliver for customers. This is a role for builders who want broad ownership in a rapidly growing company. You’ll combine analytical thinking, customer judgment, and hands-on technical work, with the autonomy to tackle ambiguous problems and see your decisions through. Working closely with Engineering and our customer teams, you’ll turn customer-specific solutions into reusable capabilities that help Valerie scale.

What you’ll do

  • Lead implementations. Own workflow discovery, design, testing, launch, and stabilization.

  • Build and troubleshoot. Work with AI coding tools, APIs, integrations, and agent configuration; partner with Engineering on complex technical work.

  • Improve agent performance. Use data and operational feedback to diagnose issues, prioritize improvements, and deliver measurable results.

  • Build for reuse. Apply existing components and turn recurring customer needs into shared workflows and platform capabilities.

  • Drive execution. Clarify ownership, resolve blockers, and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.

About you Your background may include consulting, strategy and operations, solutions engineering, technical implementation, analytics, product, or related work. Achievement, learning velocity, and ownership matter more than a fixed tenure range. You bring:

  • High agency. Takes initiative and drives work toward clear goals.

  • Analytical and systems thinking. Structures ambiguous problems, identifies root causes, and makes practical tradeoffs.

  • Technical building capability. Has built and improved tools or workflows, including with AI-assisted coding, and can understand and troubleshoot them.

  • Attention to detail. Spots edge cases and builds clear checks and repeatable processes.

  • Strong communication. Asks precise questions and explains complex work clearly.

What we offer

  • Build at the forefront of applied AI, with meaningful ownership and rapid learning in an AI-native, high-growth startup

  • Competitive salary, equity and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and flexible PTO

  • SF Office: Daily catered lunch and dinner reimbursement
