The Compact Construction Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships to promote the sale, rental, and leasing of new and used Compact Construction Equipment (BCP/CCE) and related solutions. This role is accountable for achieving assigned sales and market share objectives within an assigned territory through proactive business development, strategic account growth, and effective pipeline management. The Sales Representative identifies customer needs, develops territory growth strategies, maintains customer opportunities and activity within the company CRM system, and delivers equipment solutions that drive customer productivity and business success.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders; or talk with customers on sales floor or by phone.

  • Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

  • Achieve assigned sales, rental, and market share objectives within the territory.

  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to identify growth opportunities and increase market penetration.

  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts.

  • Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.

  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.

  • Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.

  • Coordinate customer training.

  • Collaborate with Parts, Service, Rental, and Credit departments to ensure a positive customer experience and successful equipment delivery.

  • Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, project managers, estimators, superintendents, fleet managers, purchasing personnel, and other key decision-makers.

  • Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.

  • Attend trade shows.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to analyze customer equipment needs and recommend solutions that improve productivity and return on investment.

  • Working knowledge of equipment financing, leasing, and rental alternatives preferred.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

  • General Computer literacy a plus.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
