Full job description

Job Duties

The Saw Operator / Setup prepares and cuts raw material to specified length and condition for machining and other downstream operations. This position safely sets up, operates, monitors, and maintains assigned saw equipment; verifies material identity and cut quality; maintains required traceability and records; and ensures material released to the next operation conforms to approved job documentation and customer requirements. Operates forklift to support job duties.

Follow established quality procedures, documentation, and safety guidelines in a fast‑paced production environment.

Support quick changeovers and efficient production flow to meet customer delivery expectations.

Assist the Foreman by overseeing the production in the Saw Department.

Minimum Education Required

High School/GED Required

Associated/Certificate a Plus

Minimum Experience Required

This position can be entry level for the right candidate.

3+ years experience operating and setting up a saw is preferred.

Strong blueprint reading, along with solid shop math skills.

Ability to hold tolerances in a production environment.

Comfort working in a smaller, team‑oriented shop where versatility and reliability matter.

Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
