Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As the Director of Exhibit Curation and Visitor Experience, you will lead the museum’s digital and physical curatorial strategies, ensuring the organization’s collections, exhibitions, and experiences meet world-class standards of innovation, storytelling, and accessibility. This leadership role combines technological expertise, curatorial rigor, and organizational leadership to preserve the past while inspiring future generations through storytelling inside The Walmart Museum, across our Home Office, our remote locations, and our website. This position is located in Bentonville, Arkansas, and includes a comprehensive relocation package.

*A design portfolio review is required for this role.

About the team: The Walmart Museum and Heritage group manages the Walmart Museum, Archives, and all related tours and programming at the museum and Home Office. This team shares Walmart’s historical stories, reinforces company culture, and creates engaging experiences that help associates, customers, and visitors understand the organization’s identity and operations. As a member of Walmart’s Museum and Heritage group, you will define and lead key strategies that connect our historical stories and culture with the business and community, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to foster connection, pride, and engagement.

Leadership and Organizational Management:

  • Executive Team Leadership : Lead cross-functional teams in areas including physical and digital exhibitions and curatorial program.

  • Operational Efficiency : Establish best practices in project management for initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

  • 3rd Party Management: Lead the execution of deliverables from 3rd party designers to deliver new physical/digital exhibits, content, and programming.

Strategic Planning for Curatorial and Digital Transformation

  • Digital Innovation Strategy: Own the museum’s digital roadmap to expand global access to collections and enhance visitor engagement.

Exhibition, Experience and Technology Development

  • Digital Transformation Leader : Champion new digital experiences to enhance exhibition design, storytelling, and accessibility.

  • Expertise in Digital Exhibits: Deep knowledge of digital design, content creation, curatorial practices and collection management.

  • Financial Acumen: Proficiency in budget management.

  • Communication and Public Speaking: Strong communication skills for engaging with broad audiences.

  • Technological Proficiency: Knowledge of digital tools and technologies relevant to museums.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Legal, or related field and 5 years’ experience in project management, compliance, operations management or related area OR 7 years’ experience in project management, compliance, operations management, or related area.

4 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

4 years’ experience leading cross-functional teams.
