Purpose of Role

The Software Engineering Manager - Enterprise Solutions is accountable for building and leading a capable engineering team that delivers secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable enterprise software solutions. The role establishes performance expectations, aligns work with team capability and capacity, ensures effective engineering and delivery controls, and leads the responsible adoption of approved AI-assisted and Agentic Development Lifecycle (ADLC) practices to improve software quality, maintainability, developer productivity, and delivery outcomes.

Areas of Accountability

  • Direct management of a team of software engineers, including establishing clear outputs, priorities, decision boundaries, performance expectations, and timely feedback.

  • Assess and deliver enterprise solutions that meet agreed business, security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and supportability requirements

  • Prioritize enterprise solution requests, establish achievable commitments, and execute deployments while balancing team capacity and capabilities.
  • Assess high-risk solution designs and make complex technical decisions across cloud-native solutions, Salesforce platform architecture, .NET solutions incorporating RFID technologies, and enterprise integrations.
  • Resolve impediments to committed projects and escalate dependency, quality, scope, or schedule risks to technical leadership and partnering with Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Platform, and DevOps teams to drive resolution.
  • Establish and maintain standards for architecture, secure development, code review, automated testing, documentation, deployment, observability, and production readiness.

  • Coordinate with business, architecture, security, infrastructure, platform, and DevOps teams to align requirements, dependencies, decision rights, acceptance criteria, and delivery expectations.

  • Monitor emerging trends in AI, software engineering, and ADLC practices, and coach software engineers on effectively applying relevant technologies and practices to improve development and delivery.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor-s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline.

  • 10+ years of software-engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineers delivering enterprise applications or services.

  • Previous experience as a Principal Software Engineer preferred.

  • Demonstrated people-leadership capability, including performance management, work allocation, professional development, and succession planning.

  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise architecture, secure and cloud-native development, APIs and enterprise integrations, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and production support; experience with AWS, C#/.NET, Salesforce, and RFID solutions, including real-time RFID data processing, is required.

  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 10% for business and plant-support needs.
