Senior Software Engineer, Payments & Billing

The Opportunity We are looking for a Software Engineer to join engineering at Root. In this role, you will work closely with peers on a team within a product domain (e.g. Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, etc). You’ll play a key role in solving customer and business problems in collaboration with your teammates.

Salary Range: $136,500 - $160,000 (Eligible for competitive bonus and equity offering)

Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

• Increase the effectiveness of your team by suggesting code and process improvements

What You Will Need to Succeed

• 4+ years as a software engineer
• Experience in Ruby on Rails or equivalent
• Familiarity with React/React Native or equivalents
• An eagerness to work closely with your team in a collaborative environment
• Curiosity in clearly defining the customer problem that needs to be solved
• Excellent communication skills both with engineering colleagues and team stakeholders
