Who We Are
Robert Half, one of FORTUNE’s World’s Most Admired Companies and a Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For is hiring for a Senior Corporate Counsel to join the Legal department.
We are seeking a senior level experienced employment attorney to provide practical, business-focused legal advice to business leaders and Human Resources on employment law matters affecting a nationwide staffing and talent solutions organization.
The ideal candidate is a practical, business-minded employment attorney who can provide clear, timely, and actionable legal advice in a fast-paced environment. This person should be comfortable building strong relationships and partnering closely with Human Resources, business leaders, outside counsel and other stakeholders; assessing risk; supporting sound decision-making; and developing solutions that are legally compliant and operationally workable.
What You'll Do
This position provides senior-level guidance on employment matters; leads significant legal and compliance initiatives, manages litigation, regulatory matters, dispute resolution, and outside counsel; and may supervise attorneys or other legal administrative personnel. Key areas include workplace investigations, accommodations, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, employee classification, restrictive covenants, and trade secret matters.
What You'll Need
-
J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
-
At least seven (7) years of employment law experience, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
-
Demonstrated experience advising on:
-
Harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblower matters;
-
Wage and hour compliance and litigation, including state-specific employment laws;
-
Restrictive covenants, including noncompetition, non-solicitation, confidentiality, and trade secret issues;
-
Employment policies, investigations, and workplace accommodations.
-
Experience counseling multi-state employers on workplace compliance, employee relations, and risk mitigation.
-
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical guidance for business and Human Resources stakeholders.
-
Ability to manage competing priorities and provide timely, clear legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
Work Arrangement
- Remote work is permitted for this role. Travel is expected to be rare and generally limited to occasional business needs.
Preferred Experience
- Experience advising and managing disputes for staffing companies is strongly preferred. Familiarity with staffing-industry employment law issues - including joint employment, contingent workforce arrangements, client complaints involving contractors, restrictive covenants, and multi-jurisdictional compliance—is a significant advantage.
Core Competencies
-
Sound legal judgment and the ability to assess and communicate risk clearly.
-
Collaborative approach to working with Human Resources, business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
-
Practical, solution-oriented mindset with strong attention to compliance and operational realities.
The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
$157,000.00 - $241,000.00
