Full job description
Description
Amazon Health Services (AHS) supports more than 7,500 employees across Amazon Pharmacy, One Medical, and corporate functions in a highly regulated healthcare environment. We are looking for a Senior Manager of Learning and Development to lead the strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise-wide leadership development, onboarding, and compliance programs that shape how this growing workforce builds capability and performs at its best.
In this role, you will own the leadership development architecture for AHS, the enterprise onboarding and compliance program strategy, and the measurement framework that demonstrates learning impact across all business lines. You will lead a team of program managers, learning designers, and measurement specialists to build scalable development experiences. This is a compelling time to join: as AHS grows rapidly following acquisition, we need a leader who can accelerate leadership development and help integrate our workforce into Amazon's ways of working.
Key job responsibilities
Program Strategy & Leadership Development
-
Own the end-to-end leadership development architecture for AHS — frameworks, programs, and tools for leaders at all levels, from frontline managers to senior clinical and operational leaders
-
Partner with Amazon central L&D and other business-line L&D organizations to identify, adapt, and implement existing leadership programs for AHS before investing in net-new development
-
Define program vision, success metrics, and multi-year roadmap aligned with AHS business priorities and culture goals
-
Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, participant feedback, and industry best practices
Enterprise Learning Products
-
Own the full lifecycle of enterprise learning products (leadership, onboarding, compliance, culture): strategy, design, launch, adoption, measurement, and iteration
-
Build enterprise products that business-line portfolio teams localize and adopt, ensuring consistent quality while enabling business-specific customization
-
Oversee onboarding and compliance program strategy in partnership with the team's Sr. Program Manager
-
Scale programs to meet the needs of AHS's growth across pharmacy expansion and One Medical integration while maintaining quality and impact
Stakeholder Management & Influence
-
Partner with AHS senior leadership to align program content and delivery with business needs and secure sponsorship for enterprise initiatives
-
Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Talent Management, and PXT teams to ensure integrated talent solutions
-
Build relationships with Amazon L&D peers across the company to source best practices and proven program models
-
Present program results and recommendations to senior leadership audiences
Measurement & Impact
-
Establish and track key performance indicators for program effectiveness and business impact
-
Oversee the team's Assessment & Measurement function, which serves all AHS L&D portfolios — set standards, drive consistency, and demonstrate ROI
-
Use data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in leadership and workforce development across AHS
Team Leadership
-
Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team of program managers, learning designers, and measurement specialists
-
Set clear goals, provide coaching, and create development opportunities for team members
-
Manage team capacity across competing priorities: leadership development, onboarding, compliance, and enterprise requests
Basic Qualifications
-
6+ years of experience in management and leadership development, organization development, learning and development, group facilitation, training and training design, or equivalent business experience
-
Experience delivering customized learning and training solutions to diverse employee groups
-
Experience with learning assessments/analytics and the ability to influence others through data-driven recommendations
-
Experience with program and project management in a matrixed organization, including managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, and influencing others
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries
