NY1717212 SERVICE WRITER Company: Whites Farm Supply, Inc Location: Waterville, NY (On-Site) Job Type: Full Time Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 DOE Apply: [email protected] Purpose: Assist the Service Manager with all aspects of repairs to equipment process and maintain customer service. Duties: Answer the phone. Keep track of Dealership personnel, as much as possible, so that telephone calls can be handled promptly Approve, Verify and Allocate all expenses to the correct Department or Repair Order, assuring all mark-up of bills or purchases of outside labor, parts or services for payment. Assist Service Manager with ideas to keep expenses down within Department. Make any adjustments approved by Department Managers. Approve and Open new Customer accounts and assign account numbers. Order literature and manuals as requested. Work Orders: open/start work orders. put work order parts in system. make sure all parts are on the work orders. take non used parts off work orders, put stock ones away and find bin location for parts to be sent back to company or to stock if cant be sent back at the time. Make sure the detailed story on the Repair Invoice is complete and every major item in the parts list is mentioned. check over work orders after Service Manager corrects them for completeness and accuracy. keep and update spreadsheet of all open warranties over 45 days old from all stores. write warranties for the company and work to get the highest reimbursements. assist, guide, and train other warranty writers when needed. Assist Techs in looking up parts, specs, unlock codes-passcodes, etc. Help get stock parts for techs. find out where parts are when they dont come in-call companies. call other stores to get parts to our location. call to find out availability of parts if on back order or if not sure if ordering the right part for customer. Complete Service Department filing (Repair Orders, Records, etc) weekly. Be friendly to Customers and Co-Workers. Assist Service Manager in making sure the OSHA, EPA, USDOT and EECO/ADA literature is current along with any other chemical or safety information we keep for reference. Keep workshop/service manuals up to date and organized. Provide Work-In-Progress Report to Store Manager and Service Manager every month. Make sure the Service Office is cleaned, dusted and organized. Process warranty claims. Practice confidentiality in and out of the Dealership.
