Summary

The District of Columbia Courts offers internships for students interested in seeking valuable experience in court administration. Interns have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the Court's mission to protect rights and liberties, uphold and interpret the law, and resolve disputes fairly and effectively in the District of Columbia. This internship is for Fall/Winter 2026.

Duties

This position is an unpaid internship working with the Special Operations/Onboarding & Training Unit (OTU). The interns major duties are below: Support OTU in developing role-based eLearning content that documents and standardizes court business processes. Assist with analyzing procedures and identifying content for role-based training. Assist with creating materials using tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and Captivate. Assist with monitoring workflow decisions, resolving discrepancies. Assist with validating steps in the Court's case management system. Position is flexible to focus the duties to meet the interests and goals of the intern. Requirements

Background and security investigations are required. Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record, revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts, is required. Qualifications

A U.S. Citizen or authorized by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service to intern the U.S. and at least 18 years old. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week. Actively involved in an undergraduate program. Seeking students who are majoring in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Resource Development, Org Leadership/ Development The incumbent should be an enthusiastic and engaged professional who enjoys working with a diverse group of Court personnel and customers and lives the DC Courts' values of Accountability, Excellence, Fairness, Integrity, Fairness, Integrity, Respect and Transparency.
