Full job description
As the Systems Administrator with the BCBSWY IT Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's IT infrastructure - including servers, networks, and software - operates securely, efficiently, and reliably. You will create and manage virtual infrastructure using VMware ESXi, allocating server capacity across multiple virtual machines. You will conduct system backups, support disaster recovery planning and testing, and perform tasks related to the planning and execution of integration and acceptance testing. You will also assist in developing system documentation and user training materials as needed. In addition, you will perform periodic upgrades to server and network storage systems and manage the organization's Microsoft Infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with all other BCBSWY IT administrators to support shared initiatives and maintain consistent operational performance. You will work with host site support personnel to maintain remote applications and ensure reliable access for end users. You will provide management with weekly and special reports to ensure that issues, trends, and processing requirements are identified and addressed in a timely manner. Additionally, you will serve in a backup capacity for other team members as needed or assigned, supporting continuity and stability within the IT environment. To be successful in this role, you will need in-depth knowledge of both Linux and Windows server environments, along with experience working with cloud service providers. You must be able to implement system security policies, manage firewalls, and maintain secure configurations across the infrastructure. Strong capability in managing virtualized environments is essential. A desire to learn new skills and work with new technologies is critical for continued growth and effectiveness in this position. Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in information technology or a related field; directly related work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of two years of directly related work experience---typically in cloud administration, Microsoft 365 administration, or a related field---is required. Certification in CompTIA and Microsoft technologies is strongly preferred. Additional preference will be given to candidates with specialized training in Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Active Directory, Linux/Windows servers, ESXi, VMware, or those actively pursuing continued education in Information Technology. ## JOIN OUR GROWING IT TEAM!
