Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking an experienced Director to lead Programs & Operations for AEC Marketing, the connective tissue that turns strategy into disciplined execution across the business. Reporting to the Vice President of AEC Marketing, this leader owns the initiatives, systems, and cadences that make AEC marketing move faster and land with more impact: raising the bar on messaging and demo quality, driving AI powered scale across content and research, keeping every sub industry team aligned with global marketing's demand generation, digital, and brand campaigns, and running the calendar that puts Autodesk's narrative in front of the right audience at the right moment.
This is an execution and orchestration role, not a positioning role. Success is measured by how consistently, and at what clockspeed, AEC marketing turns strategy into output.
Responsibilities
-
Cross AEC initiative ownership. Identify and drive cross AEC marketing initiatives that raise the level of team output, spanning messaging quality, sales GTM alignment, and the demo experience, partnering directly with Solution Marketing, Industry Marketing, and Sales to close gaps and set a higher bar
-
AI strategy and team leadership. Set the AI vision and roadmap for AEC marketing, prioritizing where AI can automate and scale content production and syndication, and where it can accelerate the market, audience, and competitor research that feeds positioning and messaging. Build and lead the team responsible for execution
-
Global marketing interlock. Lead the interlock with Global Marketing (digital, demand generation, brand campaigns) to ensure every AEC related business, from core design and to industry solution areas like construction, water infrastructure and transportation has an aligned strategy and is properly represented across global marketing
-
Marketing moments and events. Own the AEC marketing moments calendar end to end, including narrative and content strategy for key third party events, ensuring each moment advances the right audience and sub industry story at the right time
-
Team building. Build and manage a lean, high leverage team that operates as a force multiplier across the broader AEC marketing organization through AI
-
Operating rigor. Establish the operating cadence, metrics, and reporting that give AEC marketing leadership visibility into program status, GTM alignment, and event ROI
Minimum Qualifications
-
12+ years in enterprise software marketing, including experience leading programs, operations, or marketing ops functions inside a matrixed organization
-
Track record of driving cross functional initiatives to completion without direct authority over every stakeholder
-
Experience setting an AI strategy for marketing, covering content automation, syndication, research, or competitive intelligence, and standing up the team and tools to execute it
-
Strong relationship management with global and corporate marketing functions (digital, demand generation, brand) and the ability to represent a business unit's needs in a shared roadmap
-
Experience owning event strategy and narrative for major industry moments, such as flagship conferences and trade shows
-
Sharp operational instincts, able to build calendars, cadences, and reporting that make a marketing organization run predictably
-
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in AEC, construction technology, or another platform or vertical software business
-
Familiarity with AI content and research tooling, including generative content platforms, syndication tools, and competitive intelligence platforms
-
Experience managing marketing technology or operations platforms (e.g., Workfront, Aprimo, Asana)
-
Experience partnering with Sales and GTM leadership on enablement and field alignment
-
Passion for making marketing teams faster, sharper, and more disciplined without slowing them down
