Full job description

Responsible for training during new hire orientation, monthly safety meetings, and other specialized training sessions to include, but not limited to LOTO, Powered Industrial Truck and Fall Protection, as well as maintaining safety compliance documentation for audits.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide on the job training for associates

•Follow guidance from the Safety Manager/Safety Supervisor and work closely with the production supervisors.

•Observe equipment operation and notify appropriate personnel of any safety concern.

•Ensure proper safety training for new hires prior to assignment to a job.

•Work with supervisors to ensure that all ergonomic program requirements are completed. (Ramp in, rotation, early intervention, comfort surveys, etc.)

•Monitor new hire progress through the training period and ensure paperwork is completed and filed.

•Assist with new hire ergonomic evaluations working closely with HR, Supervisors, and nurses to ensure issues are addressed properly and timely.

•Assist with hazard assessments. (Ergonomic Worksite Analysis, Job Safety Analysis, PPE Hazard Assessments, etc.)

•Maintain a clean and organized work area.

•Lead safety meetings.

•Conduct plant tours as needed and visitor orientation.

•Update the Safety Board.

•Maintain the training matrix.

•Maintain VPP books, build presentations, and facilitate VPP meetings.

•Participate in Wellness meetings.

•Assist with safety audits, conduct behavioral audits, and lead daily exercises.

•Conduct chemical monitoring as needed.

•Support OHS as needed.

•You will obtain your OSHA 10, 30, and 511.

•You will complete a minimum of 8 Hour Operation Level Hazmat training.

Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)

·No minimum education

·Minimum of two years’ experience in poultry manufacturing.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Understand all Safety, USDA, and GMP policies and guidelines

•Strong communication skills

•Have working knowledge of all positions on the line

•Understand Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

•Able to obtain OSHA 10, 30, and 511.

•Complete a minimum of 8 Hour Operation Level Hazmat training.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

•Work is performed in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.

•Position requires working around processing plant equipment.

•You must be physically capable of working extended hours if needed and in a wet environment, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment.

•This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.

•The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.
