This position offers a base salary range of $125,000-165,000, with additional benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, 401k and paid time off.
A well-established and growing organization is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance, planning, and reporting across a complex group of affiliated entities. This is a key position that will work closely with senior leadership, ownership, outside accounting firms, legal professionals, and other advisors to manage a broad range of tax matters.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling multi-entity tax compliance and be comfortable working across federal, state, and local tax issues. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the tax function while also contributing to broader financial and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for a variety of business and related entities.

Manage tax compliance for entities such as S corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other pass-through organizations.

Coordinate quarterly estimated tax payments and annual tax filings for businesses, owners, shareholders, trusts, and related family entities.

Develop and maintain tax projections, basis calculations, distribution schedules, allocation schedules, and other supporting tax workpapers.

Work directly with external CPAs, tax advisors, attorneys, and other professional partners to address complex tax matters and ensure timely compliance.

Research changes in federal, state, and local tax legislation and assess their potential impact on the organization.

Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency and assist leadership with tax planning and strategic decision-making.

Provide tax support for business transactions, including acquisitions, reorganizations, restructurings, and other special projects.

Oversee sales and use tax matters as well as other applicable state, local, and industry-specific tax requirements.

Coordinate responses to tax audits, examinations, notices, and other communications from taxing authorities.

Maintain organized and accurate tax files, documentation, schedules, and supporting records.

Assist with tax-related forecasting, cash flow considerations, budgeting, and other financial planning activities.

Serve as an internal resource for tax-related questions and provide guidance to leadership and other stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline.
-
10+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally including a combination of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience.

CPA designation and/or Master’s degree in Taxation is highly preferred.
-
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local taxation, including pass-through entities.
-
Experience working with multiple entities and managing complex tax compliance requirements.
-
Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain tax matters to both accounting and non-accounting professionals.

Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with tax preparation and research software.
-
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet firm deadlines, and work independently.

High level of accuracy, discretion, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
