Full job description
As a Banker at Woodforest National Bank, you will serve as a frontline ambassador, delivering the Woodforest Experience. You will focus on building and growing retail customer relationships through exceptional service, proactive marketing of products and services, and consistent execution of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Ownership
- Take personal responsibility for delivering strong retail performance by identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate banking solutions.
- Act with accountability in achieving individual sales goals through proactive conversations, referrals, and marketing outreach both inside and outside the branch.
- Demonstrate ownership in resolving customer inquiries or concerns at the first point of contact, utilizing internal partners as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain operational excellence through accurate transaction processing, account opening, and consistent adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to explain complex solutions in a simple to understand way.
Service
- Deliver the Woodforest Experience by creating warm, welcoming, and personalized interactions with every customer, every day.
- Engage customers in meaningful conversations to understand financial needs and clearly explain retail banking products, services, and digital solutions in a simple, easy-to-understand manner.
- Provide dependable, efficient service while maintaining professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Embrace a technology-driven customer experience by confidently supporting digital banking tools and platforms.
Community
- Build strong relationships with customers, retail partners, and community members by representing Woodforest as a trusted neighborhood bank.
- Actively participate in local retail marketing efforts that drive branch traffic, deepen customer relationships, and support community engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with branch team members to support community events, outreach activities, and in-store promotions that align with Woodforest’s community-focused mission.
Integrity
- Uphold the highest ethical standards by safeguarding customer confidentiality, privacy, and sensitive information.
- Comply fully with all bank policies, procedures, security protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrate honesty, transparency, and respect in all customer, peer, and leadership interactions.
Initiative
- Perform branch servicing duties including teller transactions, cash handling, balancing, ordering cash, vault activities, audits, ATM servicing, and workspace upkeep.
- Open and maintain deposit accounts and consumer loan products with accuracy and attention to compliance standards.
- Follow branch security procedures and remain vigilant in protecting the bank, customers, and team members.
- Maintain flexibility to support additional retail branch duties and business needs as assigned.
Competencies Required:
- Must be proactive when seeking business outside of the branch.
- Must be open to direct coaching and feedback.
- Ability to work flexible or extended working hours to meet business needs; demonstrated reliability.
- Demonstrate a passion for taking care of people by exhibiting effective problem-solving abilities, the ability to maintain composure and convey a positive attitude while interacting with customers as well as internal team members.
- Knowledge of/or ability to quickly learn products, services, policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines, as well as engaging in a sales and service process.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, follow directions, and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand instructions, forms, applications, and be familiar with financial statements and credit reports.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant retail sales and/or customer service experience
- Prior in-store retail banking experience preferred but not required
- Demonstrated willingness to accept coaching and feedback to improve performance
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible or extended hours based on retail branch needs

Formal Education & Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Work Status:

Travel:
- May be expected to support nearby branches within approximately 45 miles as business needs require.
Working Conditions:
- Conditions include standing most of the time, may involve walking, moving, bending, stooping or sitting for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 30 lbs.
Technology Requirements:
- Must maintain a mobile device compatible with the Cisco Duo app for secure authentication.
Woodforest offers a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include 11 holidays, and PTO time based on their continuous years of service as described in the chart below.

4 - 5 years:* *Up to 17 days (136 hours)
6-10 years:* *Up to 20 days (160 hours)
11-15 years:* *Up to 25 days (200 hours)
16 – 19 years:* *Up to 30 days (240 hours)
20 years:* *Up to 35 days (280 hours)
