Role Summary

  • Collaborate with SMDC leaders and stakeholders to identify, prioritize, plan, and execute facility improvements supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

  • Manage improvements from concept and scope development through purchasing, implementation, commissioning, and closeout.

  • Maintain regular alignment with leadership with increasing independence as knowledge, judgment, and capability are demonstrated.

  • Coordinate with the campus facilities maintenance team for select facility and infrastructure repairs. Routine maintenance tickets remain with the campus support organization under the current operating model.

What You’ll Do

  • Facility Improvements and Project Management: Identify, prioritize, and execute capital and expense-funded improvements in collaboration with SMDC leaders and stakeholders. Manage scope, schedules, estimates, spending, risks, documentation, implementation, and closeout.

  • Vendor, Contractor, and Financial Coordination: Develop scopes of work, evaluate proposals, coordinate contractors, and manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, receiving, forecasts, and actual spending.

  • Facilities and Infrastructure Coordination: Identify facility needs, develop practical recommendations, and coordinate select repairs with the campus facilities maintenance team, contractors, engineers, or other technical resources.

  • Operational Support and Integration: Coordinate facility work around Engineering, Prove Design, testing, and Endurance activities to minimize disruption and support business priorities.

  • 5S, Assets, and Continuous Improvement: Coordinate facility-related 5S improvements and manage applicable supplies, materials, spare parts, and assets to support reliable operations.

  • Safety, Compliance, and Communication: Ensure work complies with applicable safety, environmental, security, purchasing, and contractor requirements. Communicate project status, spending, risks, open actions, and decisions needed.

What You Have

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Maintains accurate project, purchasing, asset, and contractor records and understands the impact of errors.

  • Effective Communications: Clearly communicates (oral and written) requirements, priorities, progress, risks, and decisions needed to employees, contractors, technical resources, and leaders.

  • Engineering in a Manufacturing Environment: Understands how facilities, infrastructure, utilities, and support services affect engineering, testing, and product-development operations.

  • Plant Facilities Management: Coordinates facility improvements, vendor services, and campus maintenance support to meet operational needs.

  • Problem Solving: Uses structured methods to investigate facility needs, evaluate alternatives, recommend solutions, and coordinate corrective actions.

  • Project Management: Collaborates with leaders and stakeholders to establish priorities and manage scope, schedules, costs, risks, resources, and deliverables with increasing independence.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Performs initial assessments, gathers relevant information, and engages the appropriate maintenance, engineering, contractor, or technical resources.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • Degree or equivalent experience in facilities, maintenance, engineering, construction, project coordination, or a related field.

  • Experience executing facility repairs, infrastructure improvements, or capital and expense projects in a manufacturing, industrial, testing, or product-development environment.

  • Experience developing scopes of work, coordinating contractors and stakeholders, and managing project schedules and costs.

  • Working knowledge of purchasing, work-order systems, preventive maintenance, asset management, 5S, facility reporting, Office products.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, communicate risks, and work with increasing independence.

Summary Pay Range:

$81,370.00 - $122,060.00
