TheEHSDepartment is looking for a Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) forEHS653in Winter 2027. Please review the information below about how to apply. You will be eligible to apply for the EHS 653 GSI only if you completed the class last academic year.

EHS 653 Environmental Sampling and Analysis Laboratory

Instructor : Kate Manz Days/Times: Thursday 12:00-2:00pm (lecture), Friday 9:00-12:00pm (lab)

Course Description: This is a laboratory and lecture course dealing with equipment, instrumentation, methodologies, and strategies for measuring environmental chemical contaminants. A primary emphasis is placed on air monitoring for human exposure assessment. Dermal and surface contamination measurements are also covered, as are measurements of water pollutants and biomarkers. Classes comprise lectures, laboratories, and demonstrations. It is designed primarily for students in environmental health sciences with interests in occupational and ambient-environmental exposure assessments for regulatory compliance and epidemiologic risk estimation.
