St. Joseph's Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers

Location : Recovery Campus - Massena, NY

Position : Full-time Clinical Aide

Schedule : Thursday, 3:00pm-11:00pm and Friday-Monday, 11:00pm-7:00am

Pay Range : $16.00/hour to $22.00/hour

Position Summary: The clinical aide works under the supervision of the Program Director/Designee in assisting residents to become accustomed to the residence routine and encourages them to participate in social and recreational activities to promote recovery. The clinical aide will be trained in medication self-administration.

Education and Training: High School Graduate or Equivalency.

Qualifications and Requirements: Experience training in working effectively with chemically dependent individuals. Must be computer literate. Must have experience working with medications.

Essential Duties:

  • Welcomes and Orients New Residents – Introduces new residents to the facility, local community, and available resources.

  • Supports Substance-Free Community Living – Assists residents in adjusting to their new environment while maintaining sobriety.

  • Medication Observation - will be trained by RN to observe resident self- administration of medication.

  • Monitors Residents – Oversees interactions and provides support to residents as needed completes rounds of the facility to ensure safety of residents and program.

  • Documents Resident Progress – Prepares written observational reports on residents' attitudes, behaviors, and significant weekend events, documentation of daily shift reports while working.

  • Facilitates Personal Growth and Sobriety – Provides guidance and assistance to residents on their recovery journey.

  • Collaborates with Case Management – Meets with the case manager to discuss new arrivals, resident progress, and house updates.

  • Engages with Fellowship Groups – Cooperates with local support and recovery groups to foster a strong community network.

  • Manages Shopping – coordinates shopping trips for residents as directed by the site manager to meet their needs.

  • Ensures Quality of Services – Performs additional duties as required by the program director or designee to maintain high-quality resident care.

  • Trains New Residence Aides – May be responsible for mentoring and training new staff members.

  • Conducts Resident Admissions – May interview new residents and complete the admission process, including necessary paperwork, resident personal belonging inventory.

  • Prepares Resident Meals – Capable of cooking and serving meals for residents as needed, stocking resident pantry.

  • Maintains Driving Requirements – Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license and be eligible for insurance coverage.

  • Supervises and Documents Urine Drug Screens (UDS) – Ensures compliance with drug screening procedures and maintains proper documentation.

  • Medical office organization - Assist in maintaining an organized, clean and efficient medical office environment for staff and residents supporting accuracy, compliance and quality of care.

  • Performs Additional Duties as Assigned – Completes other tasks as necessary to support residents and the facility as assigned by director or designee.
