Nurse Manager

Location: Avondale, AZ

Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

Setting: Nonprofit Behavioral Health

We are hiring an experienced Nurse Manager to join a respected nonprofit behavioral health organization in Avondale, Arizona. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an RN who enjoys supporting clinical teams and improving care for individuals experiencing mental health, substance-use, and crisis-related needs.

The Nurse Manager will oversee daily nursing operations, develop staff, and help ensure patients receive safe, compassionate, and consistent care.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide daily leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and staff development

  • Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback

  • Promote safe, compassionate, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care

  • Ensure nursing practices meet organizational and regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate staffing coverage based on patient and operational needs

  • Collaborate with medical providers, behavioral health professionals, and operational leaders

  • Support crisis response, de-escalation, and emergency clinical situations

  • Review clinical documentation, medication practices, incidents, and quality concerns

  • Participate in audits, corrective-action plans, and quality-improvement initiatives

  • Help develop and maintain nursing procedures, workflows, and clinical standards

  • Create a supportive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Active and unrestricted Arizona Registered Nurse license

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred

  • Previous nursing leadership experience as a Nurse Manager, RN Manager, Nurse Supervisor, Charge Nurse, ADON, or similar position

  • Behavioral health, psychiatric, crisis, detoxification, addiction-treatment, or substance-use experience strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of nursing standards, medication administration, clinical documentation, and patient safety

  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to remain calm and provide clear direction in fast-moving clinical situations

  • Genuine interest in serving individuals with complex behavioral health needs
