Senior Engineer

Point72, L.P. has an opening for a Senior Engineer in New York, NY. This position is hybrid; may work from home up to 1 day per week, as permitted. Design, build, and launch robust end-to-end data pipelines and tools that that help extract the most value out of data assets working with researchers and data scientists. Develop and support big data processing pipelines including but not limited to ingestion, transformation, and end-customer delivery. Build out cloud-based infrastructure using distributed techniques for other data engineers / data scientists / researchers. Be at the forefront of new technology developments with respect to the handling and processing of big data, applications and conduct proof of concepts evaluations of new technologies. Build Generative AI based research applications and infrastructure to deliver effective business data solutions. Build and support visualization and exploration capabilities around our big data sets. Must possess at least a bachelors degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or a related quantitative field and at least five years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or in a related role. Must also possess the following: at least 5 years of experience with Python Development, including Object Oriented programming, algorithms and data structures; at least 5 years of experience with Data Processing Tools & Technologies; at least 5 years of experience with building production grade software applications and infrastructure; at least 2 years of experience with Cloud based Technologies & Tools like AWS; at least 2 years of experience with System Design, including developing reusable software components, libraries, and APIs that enable rapid experimentation and production deployment; and at least 1 year of experience with Distributed Systems, including optimizing performance, cost, and reliability of software systems through benchmarking and iterative improvements.
