Day to Day

Work shapes people's livelihoods, identities and ambitions. Every day, millions of people come to Indeed to start a career, change direction or move up. Our Brand Planning & Strategy team makes sure Indeed connects with them in ways that feel useful, supportive and authentic. Indeed serves two audiences: job seekers and the employers hiring them. You will own global job seeker brand planning that guides priority markets, while teammates focus on employer audiences. You will track job seeker brand health and use it to shape strategies for priority audience segments. You will also write positioning and messaging frameworks for our products and properties.

This is primarily an upstream brand planning role; most of the work happens before a creative brief is written. You will partner with an integrated team of creative, media and partnership agencies that act on our insights and direction. You will set the foundational strategies that creative briefs build upon. This role is highly visible: you will present well-evidenced recommendations to senior leaders and keep priority projects moving.

Responsibilities

  • Extend Jobs Need People, Indeed’s brand platform, from audience insight through architecture, positioning and messaging development.

  • Build strategies for priority audiences, turning research and insights into clear implications for brand and marketing.

  • Run quarterly business reviews that connect brand health, audience trends and marketing performance into clear implications for the brand marketing team.

  • Write the strategic core of major marketing briefs, including audience, insight and what success looks like.

  • Identify what we don’t yet know about job seekers; propose proactive learning with research partners.

  • Partner with Audience Marketing, Growth, Product and Country Marketing teams to align and adapt job seeker strategy across markets.

  • Manage a quarterly futurist research program and track cultural shifts to serve as our expert voice on job seekers.

Skills/Competencies

  • Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience; or a minimum of 8 years with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience.

  • Exceptional writer who turns complex inputs into clear, persuasive narratives, briefs, frameworks, and points of view.

  • Proven experience building positioning, messaging frameworks and brand architecture.

  • Experience partnering with agencies and giving clear strategic direction that sharpens the work.

  • Experience interpreting brand health and syndicated audience datasets to identify implications and build points of view.

  • Proven experience partnering closely with research teams to inform study design, interpret findings and share the story of implications across the organization.

  • Highly organized; manages multiple high-visibility projects across global teams and time zones.

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships, align senior partners and defend recommendations with evidence.
