Full job description

Description

As customer demand for AI accelerates, the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services Strategic Accounts team is adding dedicated AI expertise to help our most ambitious customers design and implement agentic business and technology solutions. We are looking for a ProServe Cloud Architect who can be the technical bridge between ProServe Account Executives and Shared Delivery Teams, leading solution design from presales through delivery to ensure every proposal is realistic, achievable, and directly tied to customer business outcomes. You will translate complex technical concepts into business value, helping customers adopt cloud and AI capabilities that move them from experimentation to production. If you are a curious, adaptable technologist with consulting experience who enjoys turning customer challenges into well-architected solutions, we want to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead solution design for customer engagements, working with ProServe Account Executives to scope proposals that align technical approaches with measurable customer business outcomes.

  • Architect cloud and AI solutions — including agentic AI architectures — across system design, data warehousing, DevOps, and generative AI, ensuring designs are secure, scalable, and cost-effective.

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior customer stakeholders, translating technical recommendations into business language and guiding customers through their cloud and AI adoption journey.

  • Drive presales activities by assessing customer maturity, defining technical strategies, and contributing to go-to-market approaches that identify and close new opportunities.

  • Create reusable artifacts, reference architectures, and best practices that improve delivery efficiency, while mentoring team members and sharing knowledge across the organization.

A day in the life

Your morning might begin with a presales call, working alongside a ProServe Account Executive to understand a customer's business objectives and sketch out a proposed solution architecture. Later, you could be deep in a design review with a Shared Delivery Team, pressure-testing an agentic AI solution before presenting it to customer leadership. Between engagements, you refine reusable frameworks and mentor colleagues, making sure lessons from one customer can benefit the next.

About the team

The Strategic Accounts team within AWS Professional Services works with some of AWS's most forward-thinking customers. The team is investing in AI expertise to accelerate customers' journeys from early AI exploration to production-grade agentic solutions. Made up of ProServe Account Executives and ProServe Cloud Architects, the team partners closely with the AWS Partner Network and Shared Delivery Teams to execute enterprise cloud initiatives. We are building an inclusive culture grounded in collaboration and continuous learning.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of database (eg. SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) experience

  • 7+ years of consulting, design and implementation of serverless distributed solutions experience

  • 3+ years of cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system experience

  • 7+ years of external or internal customer facing, complex and large scale project management experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years of professional or military experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • degree in advanced technology, or AWS Professional level certification

  • Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies

  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards including HIPAA and GDPR

  • Experience in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments

  • Experience communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences in pre-sales environments
