Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls (Cost) to lead cost management efforts across large capital construction projects and programs. This individual will partner with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to develop budgets, monitor financial performance, identify risks, and provide accurate forecasting and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow analyses.
  • Track project costs against approved budgets and identify variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide cost insights and recommendations to support project decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain cost control processes, tools, and reporting systems.
  • Analyze project expenditures, commitments, accruals, and forecasts.
  • Review contractor invoices, payment applications, change orders, and cost proposals.
  • Partner with project managers, schedulers, procurement teams, and construction teams to align cost and project performance.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and financial summaries.
  • Support risk management activities and evaluate cost impacts of scope changes.
  • Mentor junior project controls professionals and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Requirements

  • 10+ years of Project Controls experience with a strong focus on cost management.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, and cash flow on large construction projects.
  • Experience supporting $300M+ capital projects in data centers, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, industrial, or similar complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of cost forecasting, change management, and financial performance tracking.
  • Experience working directly with clients, project managers, contractors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with project controls tools such as EcoSys, Unifier, Prism, SAP, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to clearly communicate project financials, risks, and forecasts to leadership teams. CCP, PMP, EVP, or similar certifications are a plus.
