We are seeking a compassionate and clinically drivenOccupational Therapist (OT)to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you'll provide individualized, resident-centered therapy while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to improving functional outcomes and quality of life.

Parkway is a141-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Boston, Massachusetts, providing bothShort-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care. Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As anOccupational Therapist, you will evaluate residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide skilled occupational therapy services designed to improve function, safety, independence, and quality of life.

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments based on resident needs

• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, safety, and functional independence

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments according to physician orders and established plans of care

• Help residents improve motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, cognition, reasoning, and functional abilities

• Incorporate meaningful therapeutic activities to support resident goals, including dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, mobility, and other activities of daily living

• Address functional limitations that may impact a resident's ability to safely participate in everyday activities

• Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and environmental modifications when appropriate

• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to promote independence, safety, and continued progress

• Monitor resident response to treatment and modify interventions as clinically appropriate

• Participate in resident care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings

• Participate in discharge planning and assist residents and families with transition recommendations

• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations

• Provide clinical direction and support to Occupational Therapy Assistants as appropriate

• Communicate resident progress, changes in condition, and treatment recommendations to appropriate members of the care team

• Promote a safe, organized, and positive rehabilitation environment

• Participate in continuing education, in-service training, and departmental meetings

• Maintain resident confidentiality, privacy, and dignity in all interactions

• Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Occupational Therapist Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program required

• Current Massachusetts license to practice as an Occupational Therapist required

• Current CPR/BLS certification required

• Long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation experience preferred

• Experience working with geriatric and subacute rehabilitation populations preferred

• Strong clinical reasoning, evaluation, and treatment planning skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Strong organizational and documentation skills

• Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care

• Passion for helping residents achieve meaningful functional goals

• Ability to meet applicable state and federal regulatory requirements

• This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
