The ideal candidate is approachable, proactive, mechanically inclined, and confident working with employees at every level. Approximately 50% travel and schedule flexibility are required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Safety Champion program by conducting bi-weekly meetings and check-ins.

  • Perform site visits and safety audits at FMA facilities and local shipyards where technicians are stationed.

  • Report all FMA work-related incidents to Workers' Compensation.

  • Manage safety opportunities with real-time follow-up and tracking of technician submittals.

  • Audit the safety program annually as required by OSHA, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.

  • Coordinate yearly OSHA drills, including fire and tornado drills, and support Safety Champions in documenting these drills at all FMA facilities.

  • Review safety trends and goals with the EHS Director on a quarterly basis.

  • Support the service DLA program through documentation, training, and related activities.

  • Maintain an active presence primarily in the service environment, with administrative duties as required.

  • Use Microsoft Office to create Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and written procedures in Word.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager.

  • Travel approximately 50% of the time.

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) credential required.

  • Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or an equivalent field preferred.

  • Experience delivering training using multiple forms of visual presentation and documentation.

  • Confident public speaker capable of conducting group training activities.

  • Solid interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
