Laser Technician

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Laser Technician for a leading precision metal manufacturing client. This individual will join a growing laser cutting department and support the operation of Bystronic laser equipment used in high-quality metal fabrication. Depending on experience level, candidates may either begin by assisting operators with material handling, inspections, and production support or step directly into an operator role responsible for machine setup, programming, troubleshooting, and production optimization. Day-to-Day: Load and unload sheet metal on CNC laser equipment Sort, stack, label, and inspect finished parts Verify dimensions and quality against blueprints and prints Assist with machine changeovers Move materials using pallet jacks and forklifts Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S standards Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements Operate from work orders and production schedules Set up and program Bystronic laser equipment Adjust machine settings for cut quality and efficiency Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Create, modify, and nest CNC programs Load and unload materials using vacuum material handling equipment

Pay range is $18-$22/hr, and this is a first shift position in Turtle Creek, PA (Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Friday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM)

Skills and Requirements

High school diploma or GED Ability to lift 50 lbs and remain on feet throughout shift Ability to read a tape measure and use calipers Ability to work from work orders and production schedules Ability to read and interpret blueprints

For Operator Level: 1-3 years of experience operating a Bystronic or similar CNC laser Experience with machine setup and troubleshooting Knowledge of sheet metal types, gauges, and material behavior Basic computer skills Bachelor's Degree BySoft experience Manufacturing or shop experience Forklift certification or experience Lean manufacturing exposure Experience with nesting functions and CNC programming Experience converting drawing files into machine programs
