Full job description
ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City, Utah seeks for a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist III (NYQ). Job description: The MLS III (NYQ) will perform testing methodologies at ARUP's on-site clinical laboratories supporting University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics. Testing platforms may include clotting, chromogenic, immunoturbidimetric, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and immunology; may operate and maintain instrument platforms such as Abbott Alinity C and I series, Abbott Architect I system, Stago STA R Max, Sysmex XN Hematology and Sysmex UN3000 UA analyzers; participates in preparing specimens for testing, establishing, performing, and documenting quality assurance, quality control, confirming and verifying results through in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments; correlates, interprets, and enters data based on knowledge of factors affecting test results; assists with training, staff development, and competency assessment; assists with instruction for students in the lab. Work locations: 500 Chipeta Way, SLC, UT 84108 and 50 N Medical Drive, SLC, UT 84132. Requires Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or in the chemical or biological sciences; and ASCP, AMT or AAB certification as MLS or MT.
