Full job description
CULTIVATE A BETTER WORLD
Food served fast does not have to be a typical fast-food experience. Chipotle has always done things differently, both in and out of our restaurants. We are changing the face of fast food, starting conversations, and directly supporting efforts to shift the future of farming and food. We hope you will join us as we continue to learn, evolve, and shape what comes next on our mission to make better food accessible to everyone.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Chipotle is seeking a highly analytical, intellectually curious, and commercially minded Senior Analyst to turn customer data into actionable insights and meaningful business decisions. This role sits at the intersection of customer intelligence, analytics, and business strategy. You will investigate customer behavior, proactively identify opportunities to drive incremental growth, and develop evidence-based recommendations that influence decisions across Marketing, Loyalty, Digital, and the broader organization.
We are looking for more than someone who can analyze data and report results. The ideal candidate can take an ambiguous business question, structure an analytical approach, uncover meaningful insights, quantify the commercial opportunity, and tell a compelling story that drives action. A defining responsibility will be developing executive-ready business cases and case studies that connect customer insights to measurable growth opportunities. Success requires strong technical capabilities, rigorous analytical thinking, business acumen, and exceptional storytelling. You should be equally comfortable writing SQL, challenging a hypothesis, and presenting a clear recommendation to senior stakeholders.
LOCATION
This position will be based in our Newport Beach, CA office 4 days per week (with work from home on Friday). Remote work is not available for this role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
-
Identify growth opportunities: Proactively investigate customer trends, behavioral shifts, unmet needs, and untapped opportunities to increase engagement, frequency, retention, and customer lifetime value.
-
Solve complex business problems: Translate ambiguous business questions into structured hypotheses, analytical approaches, and actionable recommendations.
-
Deliver rigorous analysis: Independently analyze large-scale customer, transaction, loyalty, and digital behavioral data using SQL, Python, and statistical techniques.
-
Quantify business impact: Size customer opportunities and evaluate potential financial outcomes, incorporating addressable populations, behavioral assumptions, incrementality, and commercial tradeoffs.
-
Tell compelling stories: Develop executive-ready business cases, case studies, and presentations that transform complex analytical findings into clear insights, strategic implications, and recommendations.
-
Drive experimentation and learning: Partner with cross-functional teams to design controlled experiments, establish success metrics, measure incremental impact, and translate learnings into improved customer strategies.
-
Influence business decisions: Collaborate with Marketing, Loyalty, Digital, Data Science, and other stakeholders to challenge assumptions, evaluate opportunities, and inform strategic priorities.
-
Build organizational intelligence: Document and synthesize findings, experiments, and customer insights to create reusable knowledge that informs future business decisions.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE
-
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline preferred.
-
3–5 years of experience in customer analytics, growth analytics, marketing analytics, business strategy, or analytical consulting.
-
Advanced SQL proficiency and experience working with large-scale cloud data platforms, preferably Snowflake.
-
Strong analytical and statistical skills, including hypothesis testing, experimental design, cohort analysis, and measurement of incremental impact.
-
Working proficiency in Python or comparable analytical programming tools.
-
Exceptional data storytelling and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex analyses into compelling, executive-ready business narratives.
-
Strong business acumen and the ability to connect customer behavior to revenue, retention, profitability, and growth opportunities.
-
Demonstrated ability to independently structure ambiguous problems, challenge assumptions, and develop actionable recommendations.
-
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders through evidence and clear reasoning.
-
Experience with consumer transaction, CRM, loyalty, or digital behavioral data preferred.
-
Familiarity with experimentation platforms, customer data platforms, or audience activation technologies is a plus.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success in this role is measured not simply by the analyses you complete, but by the decisions your work influences. Your insights help Chipotle uncover new growth opportunities, make smarter investments, design more effective experiments, and translate customer understanding into measurable business impact.
