Full job description

Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to support complex global payroll operations for a long-term contract position based in Washington, DC. This role will oversee payroll review, reconciliation, and compliance activities across multiple regions, working closely with external providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery. The position also contributes to payroll accounting oversight and supports compensation-related matters tied to employee mobility and equity programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll coordination across assigned international and domestic populations, ensuring each cycle is completed accurately and on schedule

  • Partner with third-party payroll vendors to review payroll data, validate calculations, and resolve discrepancies before final processing

  • Oversee payroll tax reporting, remittances, and account reconciliations to maintain compliance with local and regional requirements

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for payroll-related general ledger accounts and investigate variances as needed

  • Analyze payroll results and supporting reports to confirm data integrity, proper approvals, and adherence to internal controls

  • Support payroll administration connected to employee mobility arrangements, equity compensation, and other specialized pay programs

  • Collaborate with payroll, tax, and accounting stakeholders to address issues, improve processes, and maintain accurate records

  • Assist with audits, reporting requests, and documentation related to payroll operations and compliance activities

Requirements • 5+ years of experience managing full-cycle payroll in a high-volume environment

  • Hands-on knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and payroll compliance requirements

  • Experience supporting payroll populations of more than 500 employees

  • Strong background in payroll reconciliations, tax filings, and payroll account analysis

  • Ability to work effectively with external payroll vendors and cross-functional internal teams

  • Solid understanding of payroll controls, reporting, and deadline-driven processing

  • Strong analytical skills with careful attention to accuracy and detail
