Summary:

Meta's Business Engineering team sits at the intersection of technology and business impact, applying software engineering expertise to help partners succeed across Meta's platforms. In this role, you will build scalable, production-grade solutions that drive partner growth and product adoption across areas including Video, Commerce, Monetization, AI, Messaging, Gaming, and the metaverse. You will collaborate closely with product engineering teams and cross-functional partners to translate complex business challenges into technical solutions that create measurable value for partners and the people who use their products.

Business Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Design, build, and maintain scalable production-grade systems that drive partner product adoption and business growth across Meta's platforms

  2. Collaborate with Meta product engineering teams and cross-functional partners to identify and deliver technical solutions aligned to business needs

  3. Architect and integrate end-to-end systems with clear launch-plan strategies that address partner challenges at scale

  4. Apply knowledge of Meta's products and technologies to scope and prioritize short, mid, and long-term engineering goals that keep the team focused on measurable outcomes

  5. Build and maintain productive relationships with technical counterparts at partner organizations, independently resolving complex technical and business integration challenges

  6. Leverage product insight and domain expertise to influence product roadmap decisions that better serve partner and business needs

  7. Communicate technical concepts and data-driven recommendations to non-technical stakeholders to guide workflow changes and build consensus

  8. Conduct and participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and acting on feedback received to maintain high code quality and long-term maintainability

  9. Share knowledge with peers and contribute to a collaborative team environment, including supporting the interviewing and onboarding of new team members

  10. Serve as a subject matter expert within Business Engineering, providing consultation on domain-level projects and influencing decision-making through data-centric analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  2. 6+ years of experience as a software engineer building and shipping production-quality, scalable, and maintainable code

  3. Experience designing and architecting end-to-end systems with relevant documentation and test plans

  4. Experience with open source languages or frameworks such as Python, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Swift, or Android

  5. Experience communicating technical concepts and data-driven insights to non-technical audiences including business stakeholders or partners

  6. Experience working in client-facing or partner-facing technical roles, independently resolving complex technical and business integration challenges

  1. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

  2. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

  3. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

  4. Experience acting as a technical consultant to partners or clients, advising on integration strategies and platform adoption

  5. Demonstrated use of AI tools to optimize engineering workflows or partner integrations, with experience applying responsible and ethical AI practices such as bias mitigation and quality review

  6. Experience breaking down business requirements into product and technical features, scoping the appropriate level of technical investment based on business impact

  7. Experience working on multi-person codebases, including open source or collaborative projects, with a focus on code quality and cross-team coordination

Public Compensation:

$149,000/year to $210,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
