Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Involve in system development of wireless products with a focus on multi-radios co-existence design; Define co-existence performance requirements and test methodology to ensure Apple product meets those requirements; Work with cross-functional teams, vendors, contract manufacturers, and technology suppliers; Provide design guidelines, review PCB and flex layouts, debug and resolving multi-radio coexistence issues; Support manufacturing test and debug failure units and perform large sample failure analysis; Participate in developing system mitigation that optimizes product performance. Analyze root cause of parametric test failures and sub-optimal test results; Use spectrum analyzers, base station emulators, and network analyzers to measure and analyze radio frequency signals in mobile devices; Pinpoint actual causes of test failures or sub-optimal test results in an efficient manner, and foresee performance issues based on analysis of test results; Provide integration recommendations towards optimizing the overall radio system performance quality of the wireless device. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700- $277,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
-
Analyzing schematics and layout using OrCAD capture for several RF components like Filters, Switches, or RF Amplifiers for potential interactions within the system and drive system level changes according to best design practices.

Utilizing RF components both active and passive such as amplifiers, filters, couplers, switches, mixers etc. and an understanding of key parameters driving system performance.

Configuring RF test equipment namely callboxes, signal generators and signal analyzers to perform RF measurements, debug activities for hardware performance issues.

Performing failure analyses on hardware to identify and solve complex issues related to systems during hardware development phases.

Working with vendors for solutions that improve RF grounding, reduce EMI and acclimated with manufacturing processes to drive solutions for mass production.

Performing rework activities such as soldering, tuning and reassembling to evaluate mockups to bridge performance gaps.

Utilizing 2.5/3-D EM simulation tools like HFSS or ADS to simulate printed circuit board (PCB) and identify design related issues for EMI at conceptual stage.
