Our Team, Your Impact

The DEA Compliance Auditor is responsible for completing records and reports related to the receipt, storage, processing, handling, distribution and reconciliation of controlled substances. DEA Compliance Auditors participate in the DEA Compliance Internal Audit Program. DEA Compliance Auditors conduct investigations and may perform duties required in support of Anti-Diversion initiatives. Other responsibilities include working closely with multiple departments within the organization for controlled substance projects and to minimize risks associated with diversion.

How You’ll Spend Your Day

  • Actively monitor and assure compliance with 21 CFR 1300, and applicable SOP’s.

  • Assist in the management, development, and implementation of policies and procedures which minimize the exposure to the adverse effects of pharmaceutical diversion with guidance from the DEA Compliance Manager.

  • Ensure appropriate DEA records and reports are accurately completed and filed in accordance with DEA regulations and State requirements.

  • Initiates and performs DEA training and provides corporate DEA support to other departments.

  • Conduct random audits and reviews of controlled substance inventories in accordance with applicable procedures.

  • Facilitates the collection, labeling, auditing, storage, security, transportation and destruction of all controlled substance waste.

  • Assists with the organization and reconciliation of biennial inventories

  • Review and verify DEA documentation/batch records and electronic systems for accuracy with a high level of effectiveness.

  • Conduct investigations for the loss or theft of controlled substances in a timely manner. Analyzes losses for trending.

  • Draft, reviews and revises DEA-related SOPs.

  • Participates as an Auditor in the DEA Compliance Internal Audit Program

Your Skills and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • 3 years experience in a pharmaceutical environment or combination of equivalent education and experience

  • Effective written and oral communications skills

  • Ability to prepare timely, accurate, detailed and concise reports as requested.

  • Strong competency with Microsoft Excel

  • Strong Mathematical Skills

  • Strong Problem solving/critical thinking skills

  • Strong ability to review large data sets with a high level of accuracy

Also Good to Have

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field

  • 5 years experience in DEA Compliance and investigations
