When functioning in the designee capacity, responsibilities may include: * Assume delegated Clinical Director responsibilities during the Clinical Director's absence * Provide clinical leadership and decision-making for day-to-day patient-care matters * Serve as the escalation point for urgent clinical issues * Support clinical staffing decisions and continuity of patient care * Provide guidance to clinical staff regarding patient-care and documentation concerns * Help ensure clinical operations continue in accordance with agency policies and applicable regulatory requirements * Communicate significant clinical, compliance, staffing, or patient-safety concerns to the Administrator and/or Clinical Director as appropriate * Exercise only those responsibilities that are within the RN's scope of practice and have been formally delegated by the agency The designee function does not replace the Clinical Director position.
