About the Position: This position is located in Honolulu, HI, at Tripler Army Medical Center in the Directorate of Mental Health, Psychology Services. Duties

• Serve as a Clinical Psychologist for the Department of Mental Health delivering outpatient mental health services.
• Provide individual and group therapy using various evidence-based modalities as clinically indicated, to include brief problem-focused interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychoeducational classes.
• Educate clinic staff on the principles of mental health via trainings and briefings.
• Manage acute mental health conditions, providing crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
• Develop, monitor and execute comprehensive treatment plans for complex and severe cases using objective outcome measures.
• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement initiatives, and clinical peer reviews to ensure standard of care compliance.
• Conduct meetings and conferences to review the level of care for appropriateness of treatment in Mental Health and evaluate and approve referral sources.

Basic Requirements for Clinical Psychologist (Mental Health): Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. Completion of an APA-accredited professional psychologist internship preferred. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below: Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Performing behavioral health assessments and/or psychological testing, developing behavioral health treatment plans and/or recommendations, and providing treatment to behavioral health patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
