Collins Aerospace is seeking a Test & Validation Engineer II to develop, improve, and support manufacturing test processes and equipment used to validate aerospace products. In this role, you will analyze product specifications and test requirements to develop effective testing solutions, troubleshoot equipment and product issues, and support the resolution of manufacturing defects.

As a Test & Validation Engineer II , you will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Program teams to maintain reliable test environments, improve test processes, analyze production data, and drive solutions that improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.

Your mission: to ensure robust and reliable test processes, quickly resolve test and product issues, and continuously improve testing strategies that support production quality, customer requirements, and operational excellence.

This position is based at our Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

Work Schedule:

This position supports a weekend and Monday shift. Candidates must be available to work the following schedule based on business needs:

Friday: 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Monday: 2:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

What You Will Do

  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing test processes based on product specifications, customer requirements, and engineering standards.

  • Troubleshoot test equipment and product malfunctions, identify defective components, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Leverage product and test equipment expertise to resolve production issues, minimize downtime, and improve equipment reliability.

  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable test systems in collaboration with Test Equipment Maintenance and Engineering teams.

  • Analyze production test data to identify trends, evaluate process performance, and drive improvements in testing strategies and manufacturing processes.

  • Support hardware testing, fault isolation, and defect resolution using structured problem-solving and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.

  • Maintain test equipment, procedures, documentation, and records to ensure compliance with specifications and support rework and retesting activities.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality, increase test reliability, and optimize manufacturing test processes.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Program teams to resolve technical issues and align testing strategies with business and customer requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement while ensuring safety requirements are met for products, personnel, test equipment, and test environments.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with functional and electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, integrated circuit testers, thermal chambers, and vibration testing equipment.

  • Knowledge of CCA (Circuit Card Assembly) and electronic assembly functional testing.

  • Experience interpreting electrical schematics, technical drawings, and product test requirements.

  • Proficiency with SAP, Solumina, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), statistical analysis, and manufacturing data evaluation.

  • Experience implementing mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) and continuous improvement methodologies.
