Description

We are looking for a Benefits Specialist to support benefits operations for an employer organization near Glenview, Illinois. This position focuses on preparing market comparisons, maintaining accurate employee benefit records, and helping clients navigate plan options with confidence. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical ability with hands-on benefits administration experience and a solid understanding of PEO environments.

Compensation: $65k-$80k

Hybrid (Onsite Monday, Tuesday & Thursday)

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute employee census information to insurance carriers in order to obtain and monitor renewal and new business quotations.

  • Analyze carrier proposals and create side-by-side plan evaluations that outline differences in pricing, coverage provisions, provider access, and compliance impact.

  • Respond to client questions related to benefits offerings and provide guidance that helps employers and employees make informed selections.

  • Maintain benefit records within PrismHR and ensure enrollment details are accurately entered, updated, and reflected across administration systems.

  • Update carrier portals and related records using enrollment data and census information to keep plan information current.

  • Perform payroll and benefits audits to verify that elected coverage is correctly aligned with payroll deductions and employee elections.

  • Track the progress of submissions, renewals, and carrier responses to support timely follow-up and smooth implementation.

  • Contribute to the delivery of cost-conscious, competitive benefits solutions that align with client needs and service expectations.

Requirements • Prior experience supporting employee benefits administration, preferably in a PEO or similar multi-client environment.

  • Working knowledge of PrismHR, including benefits administration and employee data maintenance functions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe, along with comfort using benefits platforms and carrier systems.

  • Understanding of group health and ancillary insurance products, carrier guidelines, and applicable benefits regulations.

  • Ability to review detailed data accurately and identify discrepancies in enrollment, payroll, or census records.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain benefits information clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple quotes, renewals, and follow-up activities within required timelines. TalentMatch®
