Master Scheduler

Job Description:

Primary Purpose of Role

To supervise all aspects of material scheduling functions to ensure on time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze the daily shortage reports. Identify shortages and parts that are critically low on stock. Contact Material Planner for action plans to remedy any, and all parts shortages.

  • KPI Tracking( Schedule Attainment, Forecast Accuracy, Capacity Utilization, Backlog Management)

  • Analyze customer releases, forecasts, and historical demand trends to develop accurate production plans

  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and customers to understand upcoming demand shifts and business opportunities

  • Work with Operations leadership to develop production plans that maximize equipment utilization and throughput.

  • Participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (SIOP) process

  • Lead schedule recovery plans when disruptions occur.

  • Ensure scheduling is line with the Customer Contact Group’s, Sales Orders, and Hot List Files, ensuring on time delivery of material to customers.

  • Responsible for acting on order releases action and exception messages from the system.

  • Have a robust understanding of the local MRP system and the functions within.

  • Provide Operations with Daily/Weekly/Monthly schedules by working with Operations on best practices to maximize efficiency.

  • Promise Dates based on material availability and routings.

  • Assist with inventory accountability in the plant and facilitate resolution of material issues as they occur.

  • Maintains good communication and working relationships with all departments to facilitate a smooth operation.

Competencies and Behaviors

  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP).

  • Knowledge of EDI ordering standards.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, at all levels.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (less than 5% of travel).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing production scheduling or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of production scheduling, planning, demand planning, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
