This is an opportunity to lead a talented engineering team at the center of OCI’s next phase of growth.

As a Senior Manager, Software Development, you will lead a first-line engineering team building reliable, secure, and delightful deployment capabilities across the OCI Developer Platform. You will create the conditions for your team to deliver meaningful customer impact, grow engineers and technical leaders, and help establish industry-leading foundations for the rapid adoption of agentic engineering—without compromising the safety, governance, or reliability of our systems.

  • Experience leading teams that design, build, and operate scalable, highly available distributed systems, platform services, or developer tools.

  • Solid understanding of cloud-native systems, including containers, orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, or release engineering concepts.

  • Demonstrated people leadership: you can hire and develop talent, set direction, manage execution, and create an environment where engineers do their best work.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build alignment across engineering disciplines, product, and senior stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications: Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus.

  • Application deployment platforms, continuous delivery, GitOps, artifact management, or developer platform engineering.

  • Cloud-native systems, multi-tenant services, control planes, workflow orchestration, or release engineering.

  • Site reliability engineering, production incident management, observability, capacity planning, or performance engineering.

  • Security engineering, identity and access management, policy-as-code, supply-chain security, or compliance automation.

  • AI-assisted developer tools, agentic workflows, or safety and governance for autonomous or semi-autonomous systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers; set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and build an inclusive, accountable engineering culture.

  • Own delivery for a portfolio of application deployment capabilities, from roadmap planning and technical design through implementation, launch, and ongoing operation.

  • Partner with product managers, architects, security engineers, SREs, and peer managers to translate customer and platform needs into clear priorities and execution plans.

  • Ensure the team designs and operates services with safety and reliability by default, including strong isolation, policy enforcement, auditability, observability, and recovery paths.

  • Guide the team’s technical direction for AI- and agent-assisted engineering workflows, ensuring sound controls, least-privilege access, governance, and appropriate human oversight.

  • Use operational signals, customer feedback, and business priorities to improve developer experience, availability, performance, and deployment success rates.

  • Build organizational capability through hiring, talent development, technical mentorship, career growth, operational rigor, and strong cross-team communication.
