Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a General Manager for a leading heavy equipment manufacturing client in Eugene, Oregon. This individual will serve as the senior business leader of a highly visible manufacturing site and will have full responsibility for operational performance, profitability, culture, and strategic growth initiatives. The General Manager will oversee multiple functional areas including Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, Purchasing, Service, and Parts while driving alignment across the organization. This role requires a proven manufacturing executive with significant P&L ownership, experience leading large and complex operations, and the ability to build high-performing teams. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the business as if it were their own, identifying growth opportunities, improving operational performance, and fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. This is a critical leadership position within the organization that offers executive visibility, strong compensation, long-term incentive opportunities, and the chance to make a significant impact on a $100M+ manufacturing operation

Day-to-Day:

  • Lead all site operations and serve as the senior business leader for the facility
  • Own the site's overall P&L performance and financial results
  • Direct and optimize manufacturing, engineering, quality, safety, supply chain, HR, accounting, purchasing, service, and parts functions
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive growth and operational excellence
  • Build and maintain a strong performance-driven culture
  • Review production schedules, capacity planning, staffing requirements, and operational priorities
  • Ensure manufacturing output meets customer specifications, quality standards, and delivery commitments
  • Lead continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, quality, and efficiency initiatives
  • Evaluate operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Partner with department leaders to establish goals, accountability, and performance expectations
  • Analyze operational metrics, efficiency studies, and cost drivers to improve profitability
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and resource allocation
  • Promote and maintain a safe, healthy work environment Serve as the primary leader and conduit between site functions and corporate leadership

Skills and Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • 10-15+ years of manufacturing, operations, or plant leadership experience

  • 5+ years leading large-scale manufacturing operations

  • P&L ownership and accountability

  • Experience leading a complex manufacturing facility with multiple functions

  • Heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing, forestry equipment, construction equipment, or related industry experience

  • Experience managing 150+ employees and 6-8 direct reports across multiple disciplines

  • Strong leadership and culture-building capabilities

  • Demonstrated success developing growth strategies and operational improvement initiatives

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Quality, Safety, Sales, and Operations

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field

  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational leadership skills Experience driving Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives Plusses:

  • MBA

  • Experience with vertically integrated manufacturing operations

  • Heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing, forestry equipment, construction equipment, or related industry experience

  • Experience leading $100M+ manufacturing sites

  • Background in forestry equipment, mobile equipment, shredders, or heavy machinery

  • Experience with acquisitions and organizational transformation Lean Manufacturing, 5S, S&OP, or quality system leadership experience
