This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500

Join the Cleveland Clinic team at our Middleburg Heights Facility, where you will work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-first healthcare. A caregiver in this role will support pharmacy operations at the Middleburg Heights Family Health Center, which opened in October 2024. The caregiver will provide patient-focused pharmacy services, including filling and dispensing prescriptions, assisting patients with their medication needs, maintaining inventory and supporting drive-through operations. This role provides an opportunity to work in a newer ambulatory pharmacy while helping ensure patients receive timely, accurate and convenient pharmacy services.

A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Thursday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM and Friday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. This role requires coverage for six single weekend days per year at Independence Pharmacy. The pharmacy is closed on holidays, with holiday coverage rotating among Independence Pharmacy caregivers as needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.

  • Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.

  • Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.

  • Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.

  • Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.

  • Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.

  • Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthCareer Association (NHA)

  • Registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee

  • Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program

  • Six months of hospital experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, stooping, and sitting for prolonged times; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs. while walking, stooping, bending and reaching.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $21.50

Maximum hourly: $31.00

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
