Description

Planner Position Overview We are seeking a Manufacturing Planner to support a growing production environment focused on complex hardware, electronics, fabricated components, and engineered assemblies. This individual will serve as a key link between engineering, procurement, inventory, manufacturing, and program teams to ensure materials and production schedules remain aligned with customer and program requirements. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working within an MRP-driven environment, and capable of proactively identifying supply, capacity, and scheduling risks before they impact production. Key Responsibilities Manage production and material planning activities across multiple active programs. Review demand, inventory levels, work orders, purchase orders, and supplier lead times to ensure material readiness. Monitor and resolve material shortages, planning exceptions, and schedule risks. Analyze and action MRP recommendations, including reschedules, cancellations, shortages, and order changes. Partner closely with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, quality, inventory, and program management teams to maintain production flow. Support planning activities for both commercial off-the-shelf and custom-engineered components. Evaluate Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and part revisions to maintain planning accuracy. Coordinate planning impacts resulting from engineering changes and product revisions. Develop recovery plans when material, supplier, or production issues threaten program schedules. Communicate schedule impacts, material constraints, and mitigation plans to stakeholders. Track planning performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement. Maintain accurate planning and transactional data within the ERP system. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Planning, Production Planning, Materials Planning, Supply Planning, or a related function. Strong understanding of MRP concepts and manufacturing planning processes. Experience supporting production environments with custom or engineered products. Experience utilizing ERP systems within a manufacturing environment. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, programs, or production schedules simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Deltek Costpoint. Aerospace, defense, electronics, simulation, aviation, or other complex manufacturing experience. Familiarity with engineering drawings, product revisions, and engineering change processes. Experience supporting fabricated metal components, electronic assemblies, or custom-manufactured parts. Knowledge of Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs). APICS CPIM, CSCP, or ISM CPSM certification. Experience supporting multiple programs or project-based manufacturing environments. Experience managing planning impacts related to engineering change notices (ECNs), part revisions, and product modifications. Familiarity with new product introduction (NPI) processes and transitioning designs into production. Program & Cross-Functional Coordination Experience supporting multiple programs, projects, or product lines simultaneously. Strong collaboration skills with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Inventory, Quality, and Program Management teams. Ability to communicate production risks, shortages, schedule impacts, and recovery plans to stakeholders. Industry Experience Preferred Aerospace or Defense manufacturing. Electronics manufacturing or electromechanical assembly. Drone, aviation, simulation, military training systems, or highly regulated manufacturing environments. Government contracting experience is a plus. Professional Certifications (Preferred) APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) AP

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
