Full job description

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations during an off-shift schedule. This role is responsible for overseeing production employees, ensuring workplace safety, maintaining quality standards, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can build high-performing teams, promote continuous improvement, and support the achievement of production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives.

  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, attendance, overtime, and work assignments.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and employee development.

  • Mentor and train new supervisors and team leaders.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.

  • Coordinate production schedules and workforce allocation to meet business and customer requirements.

  • Monitor production performance and resolve operational, maintenance, and manufacturing issues.

  • Analyze production reports and key performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives, process improvements, and workplace organization programs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, and leadership.

  • Maintain accurate operational documentation and reporting.

  • Investigate production, quality, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions.

  • Assist with inventory control and material flow activities as needed.

  • Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.

  • Assist with departmental budgeting, planning, and performance goals.

  • Respond effectively to changing production needs and unexpected operational challenges.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business software applications.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, TPM, 5S/6S, or similar operational excellence methodologies.

  • Strong employee development and team-building experience.

  • Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive process improvements.

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to analyze operational data.

Pay Details: $72,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
