JOB DESCRIPTION:
2nd Shift, Monday- Friday 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM + overtime
POSITION SUMMARY:
This person is responsible for leading the day-to-day production activities to achieve performance goals in the areas or safety, quality, cost, and delivery, in a high performing work team environment. Must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect safety, part quality, production efficiency, continuous improvement, employee relations, etc. The Line Owner will also have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Daily Tasks and Activities
-
Will follow leader standard work check list, daily.
-
Conduct DMS board reviews to facilitate cross-shift communication, focusing on top issues.
-
Lead shift start-up meetings, ensuring attendance, communicating key issues, and conducting stretches.
-
Oversee operations management, including RTO/DLP management, material checks, equipment troubleshooting, and addressing SWI, safety, and quality concerns.
-
Execute line start-up and changeover procedures, adhering to checklists and routines.
-
Review and respond to emails, ensuring timely communication and updates on lost time.
-
Conduct area walk-throughs, followed by Safety, Quality, and 5S Walks.
-
Perform 1st Piece Inspection Sheet Audits at shift start, completing Safety, Quality, and 5S Walk audit questions.
-
Conduct PPE safety checks and ensure hoist check sheet completion accuracy.
-
Regularly inspect and maintain tools and gauges, enforcing 5S standards.
-
Perform routine inspection log checks before breaks, after lunch, and as needed, ensuring comprehensive IPILS reviews.

Track hourly downtime, documenting lost time, output, and 4M breakdowns.

Continuously update scan codes and information throughout the day.

Conduct AM audits, ensuring signoffs and completion.

Oversee parts backflush and scrap disposition, ensuring components are handled according to quality standards by end of shift.

Compile and send shift pass down reports, including DLP and relevant updates to Shift Leader.
Weekly Tasks and Activities
-
Monitor Training Matrix, addressing gaps, updating documents, and ensuring effective new hire training is completed.

Monitor SAM score weekly to ensure completion rate and cover or escalate any gaps.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred but not required: At least two years of leadership experience.
-
Demonstrated experience in motivating and leading people, driving a positive work environment is required.
-
Understanding that learning Microsoft office will be required.
-
Understanding Problem solving skills will be required.
-
Strong Written and Oral communications skills are required.
-
Ability to handle multiple priorities is required.
-
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles will be required overtime.

Possible weekend work and overtime required.
-
Must report to your shift 15 minutes prior to shift-start and 15 minutes after your shift ends is required.

Can be called in early or to stay over with short term notice.

Must be available for monthly scheduled meetings.

Ability to lead by example and coach team members to excellence

Must be in compliance with all progressive discipline policies

WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, noise and hazards such as electrical shock or gases. Some outside assignments could involve exposure to adverse weather conditions. Adequate hearing protection is required for 85 decibels and above
The anticipated wage for candidates who will work in Bowling Green, KY is $31.26 per hour. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics.
