Description

A well-established organization is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join its Human Resources team. This role is responsible for administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, supporting employee inquiries, and partnering with payroll and HR teams to deliver an exceptional employee experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a benefits professional who enjoys balancing compliance, employee support, data analysis, and process improvement within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, retirement, disability, life insurance, and leave-related programs.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and vendor communications.

  • Manage benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA administration, and related employee transactions.

  • Coordinate with third-party administrators, insurance carriers, and benefit providers.

  • Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations related to employee benefits and leave programs.

  • Maintain benefit records, employee files, and HRIS data accuracy.

  • Assist with annual open enrollment planning, employee education, and benefits communications.

  • Support Workers' Compensation, FMLA, ADA, leave administration, and related employee programs.

  • Reconcile benefit invoices and assist with reporting, audits, and compliance filings.

  • Partner closely with payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions.

  • Assist with onboarding activities and other HR initiatives as needed.

  • Support employee engagement efforts and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

  • Participate in special HR projects and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • 3+ years of employee benefits administration experience.

  • Strong understanding of benefits programs, plan design, and vendor management.

  • Working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers' Compensation, and related regulations.

  • Experience working with HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
