Summary:

  • The Senior Project Manager is pivotal in driving operational, financial and business development initiatives for key departments and services at Penn Medicine Princeton Health (PMPH). This role partners with executives, finance leadership, and department leaders to ensure optimal performance through strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and the execution of complex operational and performance improvement projects and activities.

  • Leadership presence and credibility. Comfortable interacting directly with the CEO, CFO, senior executives, physicians, and department leaders. Communicate confidently without overstepping and can hold their own in senior-level discussions.

  • Exceptional judgment and discretion. Understands what is important, what is sensitive, what needs escalation, and what can be handled independently.

  • Strategic thinker who can execute. Can take an undefined and broad executive priority and turn it into a structured plan with milestones, owners, measures, and deliverables.

  • Highly analytical and data driven. Can synthesize operational, financial, market, and performance data and explain what it means, why it matters, and what should happen next.

  • Strong business and financial acumen. Understands budgets, profitability, growth opportunities, operational performance, and the business side of healthcare

  • Comfortable with ambiguity. Can create structure where there isn’t any.

  • Proactive and anticipatory. Thinks two or three steps ahead. Identifies risks, dependencies, stakeholder concerns, and potential barriers before the executive team will ask.

  • Influence without authority. The position needs to get senior leaders and cross-functional teams moving toward a common objective even when those individuals don’t report to them.

  • Strong relationship builder with high emotional intelligence. Able to read the room, adapt communication to different work styles, navigate disagreement, and develop credibility across clinical, operational, financial, and administrative groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads complex, high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that advance Penn Medicine Princeton Health’s strategic, operational, and financial priorities, translating organizational goals into executable plans with measurable outcomes.

  • Partners directly with executives, finance leadership, and department leaders to support strategic and business planning efforts, including the use of market data, financial analysis, and performance metrics to assess service-line performance, growth opportunities, and program profitability.

  • Provides advanced data analysis and strategic insights to inform executive decision-making, synthesizing information from multiple sources into clear recommendations that influence hospital- and system-level priorities.

  • Oversees the end-to-end execution of multi-department projects, ensuring alignment of scope, timelines, resources, and deliverables while proactively managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Develops and implements strategies to achieve financial and operational objectives by identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for sustainable process improvement and performance optimization

  • Analyzes, interprets, and communicates complex operational, financial, and performance data, translating technical information into concise, actionable insights tailored to senior leadership and diverse stakeholder audiences.

  • Builds and maintains strong partnerships across clinical, operational, and administrative teams, fostering collaboration, alignment, and shared accountability in support of entity and system initiatives.

  • Influences decision-making at the senior leadership level through credibility, leadership presence, and evidence-based recommendations, serving as a trusted advisor on complex initiatives.

  • Provides mentorship, coaching, and guidance to project analysts and project managers, strengthening project management capabilities, analytical rigor, and performance excellence across the organization.

  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)

  • Bachelors degree in Business administration or a Healthcare-related field5+ years experience in Business Administration or a Healthcare-related field

  • Master of Arts or Science

  • Masters degree in Business administration or a Healthcare-related field3+ years experience in Business Administration or a Healthcare-related field

Salary Range:

$86,306.69 - $137,585.76/Annually based on 40 hours per week
