Summary

This position is located U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), Voice of America (VOA), serves as the Digital Operations Director for the and as the senior strategist for the digital evolution of VOA. The incumbent reports to the VOA Deputy Director and leads VOA's digital operations, audience growth, content innovation, and modernization across broadcast, digital, social, streaming, podcasts, and global distribution networks.

Duties

As a Digital Operations Director, you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to: Oversee strategy and distribution models across global endpoints, including streaming platforms, web networks, smart TV applications, mobile feeds, and podcast networks. Drive sustained expansion of global audience growth, engagement, reach, and follower acquisition across social media and digital platforms within an international news environment. Establish responsible, ethical, and innovative AI practices for digital journalism, encompassing experimentation, quality control, metadata protocols, and the integration of emerging AI tools into newsroom content production. Perform the full range of supervisory duties: plan, schedule, and assign work; conduct annual performance appraisals on staff, identify training needs and opportunities for staff, carry out EEO policies and program activities. Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS- 14 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and includes all of the following: Leading and managing the activities of professional journalistic and/or broadcasting staff digital content production, distribution, and performance across websites, mobile applications, social media, streaming, and emerging platforms; Leading or managing the implementation of artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, or other emerging technologies to enhance newsroom operations; Developing and executing strategies to expand audience reach, increase engagement, and improve digital performance among domestic or international audiences.
