Estimator | Lead High-Impact Commercial & Public ProjectsPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in commercial and public construction. The ideal candidate has experience preparing complete estimates, managing competitive bids, and leading preconstruction efforts for municipal, educational, institutional, and other commercial projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned estimator who enjoys taking ownership of the bidding process and contributing directly to the company's growth and project success.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial, municipal, educational, and institutional construction projects.

  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop self-perform pricing across multiple CSI divisions.

  • Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.

  • Manage bid schedules and lead all bid-day activities.

  • Prepare bid packages, proposals, and required bid documentation.

  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements to develop complete and competitive estimates.

  • Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements, public bidding regulations, and New York Wicks Law requirements.

  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and operations teams to ensure a smooth project handoff after award.

  • Analyze project risks, budgets, and scope gaps to improve estimate accuracy and competitiveness.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of construction industry experience with a general contractor.

  • 3+ years of experience in a Senior Estimator, Lead Estimator, or similar role.

  • Proven experience estimating public and commercial construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of public bidding, prevailing wage requirements, and Wicks Law projects.

  • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST) or similar platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and pricing.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $200000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
